Spinal Therapy / Osteopathic Techniques

An emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft tissue manipulation are required with any injury. During Injury the nervous system will be somewhat affected and in order to work more efficiently will need to be incorporated in the rehabilitation process.

This is also the case if an injury is left untreated for a period of time. Nerve information that is transmitted from the brain to the rest of the body through the spinal column is situated in and below each of the 24 vertebrae joints of the spine, sacrum and the coccyx.

When the spinal column is correctly aligned, nerve information is passed accurately. If there is a disruption and any part of the spine becomes misaligned, then nerve function may become impaired.

These treatments can be performed by our Sports Therapist similer to those performed by Chiropractors and Osteopaths.
